The "Crown Jewel" of Rail-to-Trail Adventures
The Route of the Hiawatha mountain bike or hike trail is 15 miles long with 10 train tunnels and 7 sky high trestles. The 1.66 mile long St. Paul Pass Tunnel, also know as the Taft Tunnel, is a highlight of the trail that follows the crest of the Bitterroot Mountains near Lookout Pass Ski Area. The best part is.... it's all downhill with shuttle buses available to transport you and your bike back to the top. This family friendly trail is easily enjoyed by a wide variety of people from young children to super seniors.
The Trail of the Couer d'Alenes is a 72-mile paved, non-motorized trail has an mid-way access point just 10 minutes from the cabins. The Trail travels downhill from the Plummer prairie over the expansive Chatcolet Bridge along the Coeur d’Alene Lake following the flow of the Coeur d’Alene River though a collection of chain lakes and farmland until it becomes more forested along the river which divides into two confluences and following the South Fork of the Coeur d’Alene until it terminates after climbing up to the small quaint city of Mullan near the Montana border. This is a fully developed trail with tables, benches, outhouses, kiosks and formal trailheads.

Crystal Gold Mine Underground Tours
Take a trip back to the 1880’s and experience life as an underground gold miner. The Crystal Gold Mine, near Kellogg, Idaho was one of the first hard rock mines in the Silver Valley. Worked during the 1880’s, it’s now open as a historical attraction that allows visitors to get a feel for how miners experienced the mine.
Historic Town of Wallace, ID
Wallace is also known for the fact that every downtown building is on the National Register of Historic Places... which is why the US government finally had to go over the town instead of through it in order to complete the Interstate Highway system in 1991. Now the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes paved bike path is directly under Interstate 90 as it passes above Wallace, following the famous South Fork of the Coeur d'Alene River through the narrow Silver Valley: the only place on earth where more than a billion ounces of silver were mined in 100 years.

Silverwood Theme Park boasts over 70 rides, slides, and attractions, ranging from kid-friendly to adrenaline-inducing. If you like heart-pumping thrill rides, don't miss the Aftershock. which was voted the top hanging coaster by Travel Channel in 2012. Admission to the park includes entrance to the water park. The park’s two theaters present live magic shows and old films. Silverwood is 21 miles north of Coeur d'Alene.
