Crystal Gold Mine Underground Tours
Step back into the 1880s and experience life as an underground gold miner at the Crystal Gold Mine near Kellogg, Idaho! As one of the first hard rock mines in the Silver Valley, this hidden gem was hand-dug and worked over a century ago. Now open as a historical attraction, it offers a fascinating glimpse into the past—walk the tunnels, see gold still in the quartz veins, and imagine the grit and determination of early miners.
Historic Town of Wallace, ID
Wallace, Idaho, is a true historical gem—every downtown building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places! In fact, the town's rich history was so significant that the U.S. government had to reroute the Interstate Highway System over, rather than through, Wallace in 1991. Today, you can explore the past while biking the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes, which passes directly beneath Interstate 90 as it travels through the narrow Silver Valley. This unique area is the only place on earth where over a billion ounces of silver were mined over the course of a century.
